Tutorial Step 2: Enter Product Descriptions

Note: This topic is part of the tutorial sequence to learn ChangeAide 3.3. The first step in the tutorial is Create a Product Breakdown Structure (PBS). Other examples of product based plans can be found at the Product Based Planning Examples Section or in the folder "My Documents\My ProductBasedPlans\Examples". The Events and Application examples contain product descriptions.

to Enter Product Descriptions

 

This step in the tutorial creates a Product Description for the Fixtures and Fittings List product found in the sample project:  ShedExampleACT00.PBP

  The following steps take you through theEntry of a Product Description
Select the product In the PBS, select the product: Fixtures and Fittings List.
View the Product Description Select the PD tab.  You will see the Product Description for the Fixtures and Fittings List product. The Title of the product should already be filled in.
Enter the Product Description information

Enter the relevant information into each cell of the Product Description form.  Use the values from the example contained in the example project ShedExampleACT00.PBP.

  • To start typing in a cell, select the cell.
  • To start a new paragraph within a cell, type <SHIFT> <RETURN>.
  • To finish working in a cell, either:
    • Tab to the next cell
    • Press <RETURN>
Select another product
  1. Select another product in the Product Checklist.
  2. When you select the product in the Checklist, the Product Description form shows the details of the selected product.
  3. Enter the details for this product. 
Print the Product Description
  1. From the File menu, choose Print Preview to preview the Product Description form.
  2. Click to print the form.
Save your project
  1. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  2. Save your project in the examples folder: My Documents\My ProductBasedPlans\Examples.
  3. Save your project as PDTutorial.
Open the example project
  1. From the File menu, choose Open.
  2. Browse to the examples folder.
  3. Open ShedExampleACT00.PBP. This shows the finished version of this Product Description form.
